Photographic elements can often be favoured by certain photographers, for example Floris Neusüss only takes black and white photos that are very minimalist. this makes his style very recognisable, so that people can compare his work to others and notice how his work can inspire other people. He uses Photograms instead of photos to create these dark images, however instead of just using a small object like with most people who create photograms, he instead uses people placing them in various positions that create an interesting and sometimes monstrous effect that is a unique twist on the concept.
Another example of a photographer with a strong sense of what photographic elements they like to use is Dan Arkle, who has created his own style of photography, which he calls "Little Planets".
